Workshops all take place in my studio located in the Paper Mill at 337 route 295, Chatham, NY. More details below!

Learn to use vitreous enamel on copper to create one-of-kind pendants or a pair of earrings. Copper shapes will be provided but, time permitting, you may be able to cut your own design.
This class runs from 1:00pm-4:00pm and during this time you will learn how to:
• sift and fire vitreous enamel
• use stencils to create patterns
• saw and file copper sheet metal
Brass chain will be included but silver chain will be available for an added fee. Safety instructions and precautions will be provided.
Learn to make (and keep!) your own bezel-set stone ring. Participants will choose a stone from a selection that includes semi-precious cabochons like agate, onyx, and lapis lazuli, and set this stone in a sterling silver bezel with a sterling silver band. This class runs from 1:00pm-5:00pm and during this time you will learn basic metalsmithing skills including:
• bending & sizing wire
• soldering with high-temp silver solder
• sanding & filing
• bezel setting to hold your stone in place
• polishing with a rotary tool
The stacking rings class is recommended but not required to take in advance. Safety instructions and precautions will be provided.
Everyone works at their own pace so even though most participants will complete their projects during the workshop, some folks made need a little extra time. Most Sundays throughout the summer will have open studio hours where you can come in to complete your project at no cost.

• ring sizing
Safety instructions and precautions will be provided in advance of the course.

This class runs from 1:00pm-4:30pm and during this time you will learn how to:
• manipulate wire with fine pliers
• use specialty wire cutters
• design a necklace using an assortment of semi-precious beads
This class uses small beads so it is recommended to bring reading glasses if you normally wear them for looking at fine print, for sewing, etc.

Class will begin with designing on paper and will move into transferring the design to metal. This class runs from 1:00pm-4:00pm Saturday and Sunday and during this time you will learn basic metalsmithing skills including:
• sawing & piercing
• sanding & filing
• soldering with high-temp silver solder
• polishing with a rotary tool
