Ornament is far from supplemental. We adorn ourselves, our spaces, our lives to communicate who we are. This profound human impulse has long inspired me and is the impulse behind Charm Stand, where I bring adornment, and often jewelry specifically, into focus, showing how what we wear is intertwined with both who we are and who we want to be. Jewelry is culture and history; it is personal and private; it is public and intimate; it is precious; and it is powerful.

My passion for all things jewelry extends to my teaching practice. I have over 20 years of experience working with metal and have taught all kinds of art to students of all ages for nearly as long with a focus on metal and jewelry for about ten years. If you have never touched metal I will walk through the process—there is nothing I love more than sharing the joy of making!
